CEO - Chairman of the Board

John founded Insight Investments Corp. in 1987, and continues to grow the company through his foresight and keen understanding of industry trends. He began his career working for a venture backed telecommunications startup company and later distinguished himself in the National Accounts Division of IBM.

As CEO and Chairman of the Board of Insight Investments Corp, John focuses on areas of management and growth, emphasizing to clients, employees, and vendors the absolute importance of long term thinking in preserving lasting business partnerships. His strength is anticipating technology changes and positioning the company to take advantage of them.

John has a B.S. from University of California, Santa Cruz and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University where he graduated with honors. He has four children, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and is an active member of Legatas.


Richard Heard is President of Insight Investments and holds a seat on the Board of Directors. He has been with Insight Investments since its inception in 1987. Throughout his tenure spanning more than two decades, Mr. Heard has been directly involved in every aspect of the business. His executive and financial leadership has been instrumental in the evolution, nationwide growth and overall success of the company. Today Insight Investments is the premier choice for businesses seeking support in managing the financial acquisition, implementation and service of Information Technology solutions. Under Richard’s direction, the company’s three divisions have embarked on a course that is successfully solving many of the most pressing IT product, services and financing needs. The company has been honored with several high profile partner awards for quality and customer service, has achieved many technology excellence standards including ISO 9001:2008 certification, and continues to grow at record rates. Mr. Heard holds a B.S. in Economics and an MBA, and is married with two children.

Chief of Staff to the President and CEO

David joined Insight Investments in 2006 and has nearly 15 years of experience in finance / operations.

David oversees Insight’s accounting and finance efforts and also coordinates operations across the group's departments and divisions. Prior to his appointment to Chief of Staff, David served as Vice President of Strategic Planning and more recently as Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to Insight, David worked for Lehman Brothers’ Investment Banking Division where he focused on M&A and corporate finance. He has also worked as a logistics manager / process engineer for Procter & Gamble.

David received a B.S in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles and an M.B.A. from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. David is married with two children.

Executive Vice President
Chris joined Insight in 2008 and has over 20 years of experience in banking, leasing, and finance.

As Executive Vice President, Chris oversees Insight's banking and treasury activities and also manages the Company's leasing infrastructure which includes credit, syndication, portfolio management, and lease administration.

Before joining Insight, Chris served as VP & Treasurer of Relational, LLC - a private, Chicago-based technology lessor.  Chris's prior experience includes nearly 12 years in commercial banking at European American Bank and Fleet Bank (fka NatWest USA) where he specialized in providing financing for lessors.

Chris holds a B.S. in Management and International Business as well as an M.B.A. in Accounting and Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.

Director of Human Resources
Bobby joined Insight Investments in October 2006 and has nearly 17 years of experience in Human Resources. In his role, Bobby is responsible for the identification, development, and implementation of the company's human resources strategies in support of the organization's objectives. He oversees all aspects of human resources, including talent management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, and organizational development.

Prior to his work at Insight Investments, Ho served as Employment and Systems Manager at Ricoh Electronics and HR Systems Manager at Siebel Systems, Inc.

Bobby received his BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and has been an instructor in the University of Irvine Extension Human Resources Certification Program since 2003 where in 2011 he received the UCI Extension Instructor of Excellence Award.

Director of National Sales & Marketing
Darren joined Insight Financial Services in 2008 after a 16 year career at Oliver Allen and US Bank Oliver Allen where he was Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Darren brings to IFS more than 21 years in IT Leasing experience with a proven track record of lease structuring expertise, lease originations growth & sales rep development.

VP of Education Sales
Manfred joined Insight Systems Exchange in 2008 after a 23 year career at Xerox in Sales, Sales Management, Marketing, Pricing and Operations. Manfred has an in depth understanding of the pricing and planning of products as well as extensive knowledge of the Education vertical market that he manages. The 16 Sales Executives under his direction cover all 50 United States. They, along with his Marketing and Customer Service teams deliver a hassle free 3 year IT solutions to Schools, Colleges and Universities.

Senior Vice President - National Sales
Rob Flannery is the Senior Vice President of National Sales for the Insight Integrated Systems division. Rob brings over 12 years of sales and sales management to the business. Insight Integrated Systems also known as IIS strives to always be ahead of the curve, ready to anticipate changes, and respond to the needs of our customers. Rob's successful track record, extensive knowledge of the industry and rewarding customer/partner relationships has proven to be extremely valuable to IIS and more importantly to the sales team that reports to him. Before joining IIS Rob was the Director of Sales for CA and a District Sales Manager at EMC.

Senior Vice President, Engineering

Rob joined Insight Investments in September 2005 as Director of Engineering for the Integrated Systems division of IIC and was quickly given the additional responsibilities of internal technology as Chief Technical Officer for all of IIC. He has over 20 years experience in storage hardware and software, networking, systems architecture and engineering. Prior to joining to Insight, he was vice president of system engineering at NuView, Inc. where he oversaw enterprise-level storage architecture solutions for customers worldwide.

Before NuView, Rob worked at Network Appliance leading the system engineering team for the Southwest region in growing the storage business from $27M to $90M.

In addition to his experience managing the vendor-side of storage and networking technology, Rob has also served in IT management roles directing the architecture and operations of large IT infrastructures focusing on "productizing" infrastructure services to increase availability while decreasing operational costs.

Rob has a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. from University of Southern California and an M.B.A. from University of California at Los Angeles. He is married with two children.

General Counsel

Jerry joined Insight Investments Corp. in 2004 with nearly 25 years of extensive domestic and international legal and business experience, including technology transactions, acquisitions, management, corporate governance, corporate finance, executive compensation and employee benefits.

He was formerly senior vice president, chief legal officer, and corporate secretary of Comdisco, Inc. As general counsel and a senior member of the management team, he is responsible for all of the Company's legal and corporate governance matters.

Jerry received his bachelor's from Xavier University, his master's from Dominican University, and his J.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. Jerry is married and has four children.

Director of Syndications
Senior Vice President

Katrina joined Insight in 2002 and has over 30 years of experience in the leasing industry.

She began her career at Itel Leasing, in the mid-1970s and later joined Comdisco, Inc., in San Francisco, CA. In 1987, she was promoted to vice president of debt finance, and, in 1997, put in charge of the department as head of syndications. During her lengthy tenure at Comdisco she was personally responsible for discounting over $3Billion in equipment lease receivables.

Katrina is responsible for both the debt and equity syndications for Insight's equipment leasing portfolio. Katrina graduated from Northcote Business College in Melbourne, Australia and is married with two children.
